This blog post should have been done MONTHS ago, but better late than never I suppose 😉 Back in April, I had the upmost pleasure of photographing Mike and Valerie’s “American” ceremony before their big, beautiful wedding in Italy which took place in June. They didn’t want the hassle of the paper work in Italy, so they chose to become legally married in the states before heading to Italy…and I am so happy they picked me to photograph it for them! I have met a lot of really great people and clients, but there was something truly great about this family. Having just moved here from DC, Mike and Valerie were excited to have some of their closest family come visit and share in this special day with them. Valerie knew exactly what she DIDN’T want in her session: boring, stiff poses, everyone wearing the same thing, and fake smiles, which was perfect because I loathe all of those things 😀 In a nutshell, Valerie is a photographer’s dream client.
We began their session with family pictures at a nearby park, with everyone just enjoying the company of everybody else. It was really fun for me to watch this family interact with each other and to be able to preserve these beautiful moments for Mike and Valerie. After the park, we headed to Mike and Valerie’s beautiful home where their quiet, intimate wedding ceremony would take place. From the flowers to the family table, everything was just perfect and you could really tell that each element had that special touch of love from Valerie (who is an interior designer- and it shows!).
