The Art of Ballet | Boise Children’s Photographer

It is what every little girl dreams of….a fluffy tutu, those pretty pink shoes, and your hair tied back into a graceful bun. Meet Megan, a real life ballerina who gets to live the tutu life every day. We met Megan nearly a year ago at an Easter function, and my daughter who was three at the time, immediately spotted her. “Look mom! She’s ON POINTE!”. She was gracious enough to show Reese (my daughter) her toe shoes, and do a few spins for us. Lucky for us, Megan performs at birthday parties, so a few months later at Reese’s birthday, Megan graced us with her presence once again. Let me just say, she was the hit of the party. It was all anyone talked about for weeks.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Megan and her incredibly sweet mom, Robin, this weekend at the studio where she dances, Eagle Performing Arts Center.  I decided to do the whole set in B&W (minus two, that looked better in color). Mostly because the wall colors there were lime green and blue, but also because I decided to step out of the box a little. I’m more of a color kind of gal, and doing more B&W’s has been a goal of mine. Watching Megan during our shoot, was incredible. The way she was able to bend and move, but stay so graceful at the same time was extraordinary.  Ballet truly is an art. Thank you, Megan, for the awesome shoot!

By the way, if you’re local and want to book Megan for your kiddo’s next party, go here: Tutu Fun Parties by Megan.
